Default Brakes

I got my uk blazer around 4 weeks ago and have had it on the road for 1 week....

I bought the car knowing there was a problem with the rear brakes, so I got a lot of money off....
obviously I have to import parts which is why the cars been off the road for a few weeks.

So far I have replaced;

Rear rotors (discs)
Rear pads (and made sure they where c clamped before putting them on)

But I'm still getting a rubbing, clicking noise coming from the rear drivers side (R.H.D).
The brake on that side smokes after a very short journey.... I really don't know what the problem could be....

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Default RE: Brakes

#1 - make sure that the shims that slide over the caliper bracket are not hitting on the rotor. To do this, tighten down some lugs onto the rotor with the wheel off (to hold the rotor in properly) and spin the rotor, checking the clearance between these shims and the outside of the rotor. If the shim is hitting, some bending out of the way with a screwdriver should take care of it (did when I replaced the brakes on my old 2k Bravada).

#2 - You need to make sure that the sliders for the caliper are allowing the caliper to fully float. If it is applying pressure on the pads, you will get uneven pad wear as on of the pads is always pushed up against the rotor.

#3 - Make sure that the caliper is releasing properly. A bad rubber brake line to the caliper could cause the pressure to apply, then hold, bleeding off VERY slowly which would result in a brake hanging up.
