Default Broken Brake Lines!!!

So I was going home one particular evening when a deer jumped out and I slammed on my brakes. In doing so, my brake light came on and my pedal went to the floor. after i stopped ( I have little brakes) I find a puddle under the drivers side door. The rubber line is blown open. Is there any easy fix??? what should I do? My front brakes still work fine, just spongy pedal.

Replace the affected component(s). Simple as that. Once you have the repair completed, bleed the brakes.

I definitely would not recommend driving your truck with a failed or failing brake hydraulic system.

ok, after further inspection, the steel brake line rusted out on the drivers side in between the driver and passenger door. I have to replace the whole length of the line right? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

As far as I know you do have to replace the whole line, you can get with a parts store and they should be able to get you one that is already made for the year of your truck.......I'm pretty sure

What year is it? Is it steel from one end to another? If so I had to replace a line on my old blazer (93) andit was late so be bought a steel line and bent it to match and it worked and did not leak for 4 years until I go rid of it.

If you can find good line before and after the bad section, then you can cut and flare the original line, splicing in a replacement piece to cut down on the cost. But flaring old brake lines can be problematic...

And you could just replace the whole line, bending up a straight replacement line (or lines) to get the job done.
