I've continued to work on my Blazer, which includes new 1400lb leaf springs, new ball joints, replaced the knock sensor, new distributor cap and rotor, and some lift shackles. I installed the leaf springs first to see how much lift I got just from those. It ended up being right at 1" which brought the truck back to level and solved the saggy rear-end issue but still wasn't as high as I wanted.
I bought some shackles from Supreme Suspensions that claimed to lift the vehicle 2", but in reality they are only good for about 1-1.25". Still better than it was...before the new springs and shackles I went off-roading at Windrock and the rear of the vehicle was where I kept having clearance issues.
So a question for the experts...I have attached photos of my front CV angles. Do these CV angles look about right? This is after cranking the torsion bars to get more level with the back. I'm not trying to get dead-level with the back, just lifted as much as is reasonable/practical. I've done the Z measurements from the forum and started with a Z-measurement of 4.6", which is on the low side of spec (4.8"). This equated to a fender height of 32.5" off of the ground and my CVs were relatively level. Now I'm 1" higher at the fenders and my Z-measurement is 5.6" (go figure, but wasn't sure that was 1:1). So by all posts and advice my front end geometry isn't too bad and shouldn't chew through parts too badly, right? Just wanting to confirm and add some photos of CV angles for refence. These CVs were replaced about 3 months back so they're basically new despite the patina. I assume that's normal...
