A lot different then the OE case huh? Lol. I know rock auto has those and there actually not too bad on price. Besides the case is there anything else different? Is it a better quality compressor? It's quite a bit cheaper than the other ones on rock auto. I do believe you get what you pay for. Are you running this particular compressor?

I've installed several of these on GM vehicles in the past few years, and not one customer complaint. Not sure about the innards, gotta be something different cuz they're quieter than the Harrison. I personaly have 2 Blazers: the 1998 has a Sanden, and when the 2004 Harrison pukes, it'll get a Sanden too.

Before installing, make absolutely certain that the mounting bracket surface is perfectly flat, (use a straight edge). Then torque in steps using an "X" pattern.

Having a bit of trouble with my local parts stores. The only one that carries that compressor is carquest but it doesn't look exactly like the one you have pictured. They cross referenced the model number and it came back as the 281281 part number. It's there brand compressor with a 3 year warrantee with purchase of orfice tube and dryer which I plan on doing to keep the warrantee. The compressor body looks the same but instead of the wires being long the connector is right behind the clutch like the OE types. Everything is right under 300 bucks which I didn't think was bad 299.83 to be exact. Deal or no deal?

The cross is probably some off the wall brand and not a Sanden, but rather an interchange for the Harrison HT6. Is the center section of the compressor one piece or is it a split case?

The HT6 has a "band" in the center of the case:

This is an off the wall brand, no tellin' who makes it. This is not a replacement for the HT6, but it does show the difference in the case design:

So in other words the link you gave me is where I need to purchase the "real deal"? That's fine if I need too just don't want another leaky compressor. Tryin to make things last not keep replacing them but I love working on my blazer! 👍😄

Naaa, ask around locally, if you can't find it, look online. You can do better, price wise, than the Sanden website. Seems like the last one I bought in July, (maybe Amazon) was ~$160 or $180.

So looking at amazon and for a 2000 blazer the 4440 compressor does not fit my vehicle so Amazon says???? The year stops at a 98... That's the weird thing cause 98 is the same type of compressor right? If it is I found one for 133 bucks!

Good price! Go to the Amazon page and look at the far left. Shows fitment... it fits.
