A/C compreser died

Default A/C compreser died

i have a 1999 blazer the a/c compresor just died. its makin alot of noise (sounds really bad). anyone know where i could get a new one for cheap (online or salvage)??

The part is the cheap part. That being said it's still not cheap. Mine actually seized and rendered my Jimmy un-drivable. Paid $1100 to get it fixed. Part was about $400.

The HT6 compressor is a pretty common model available either new or remanufactured ranging in price from $120-$500. Just make sure you replace the Accumulator and orifice tube (both very inexpensive parts). If your compressor is making that much noise, here is a link to a site that shows what your orifice tube probably looks like:
