Exclamation A/C Compressor clutch question

I have a '96 S series Blazer. Currently, the A/C does not seem to work. When I kick on the A/C, the clutch does nothing. Could it be because there is no refrigerant in the system, or is it more likely the clutch is no longer good? I did check the fuse and it is fine, as is all the wiring. It has not worked since I purchased it back in February of this year, so I don't know when the last time it worked was.. Please help! It's 100 frickin degrees! LOL

I would check the refrigerant level first. Most of the DIY refill kits you can purchase at any part store, will come with a gauge that tells you if your low on refrigerant. If its low fill it and see what happens. If your low the compressor will not activate.

If its charged and still does not operate you either have too much of an air gap on the clutch or you have to replace the cycling switch on the dryer. If after making sure all of the above is ok and it still does not work, then itsprobably toast.
