Default a/c overhaul questions

My ac system has had a catastrophic compressor failure and the system is heavily contaminated with metal shavings. I am replacing the compressor, acumulator, hoses and the condenser as well.

My question; can I flush the evaporator core sufficiently enough to reuse or should I replace it as well? I'm trying to avoid what is in my opinion the biggest pain in the butt from what I have gathered.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

From what I understand about these condensers (parallel flow) is that a flush will not adequately remove all contaminates. You have a chore ahead of you anyway, might as well be safe and replace it to safeguard your new equipment.

you can flush your lines and your condenser and evaporator you need some special equipment to do this so if you do not have it take it to the shop they could maybe save you some money and aggravation of changing parts that are still good.

Might be able to have it professionally done, but keywords in your post are "I am replacing" If you re like me, I would rather pay $175 for a new condenser, and replace it myself than pay a shop that amount to flush an old one.

Default Original question

So I'm still hoping for some feedback as to whether I should replace rather than flush the evaporator. I've already replaced everything else

Lol. Sorry. I read evaporator and was thinking condenser. I think that happens alot. I would think you could flush the evaporator. Not sure what that would require. Seems the orifice tube would trap most debris from entering evaporator.
