a/c rebuild advise
I have an unusual situation. I got ahold of my late uncle's 2004 blazer. He had been sick for some time and the truck more or less sat around for a couple years. The compressor went bad and he decided to rebuild the whole a/c system. Here's where my dilemma begins. He did indeed rebuild the whole system but when he got sick it was never vac'd and charged. However, he had put the pag in. Since the oil has sat in there for a little over 2 yrs. now; will I need to remove the oil, perhaps take the compressor off and tip the oil around, etc.. or, can I just vac and charge as though it were just rebuilt. I anxiously await some suggestions.

I would err on the side of caution here and replace the oil. If he never pulled a vacuum on the system, then replacing the accumulator was useless - you want to pull a vacuum before you unseal that. By now, the desiccant is certain to be saturated and useless. So you'll be replacing an accumulator, as well.

WitchingHour thanks big time. I figured as much. My cousin had never used the vehicle and I convinced him to part with it. It was he who gave me the low down as well as a check list we found.
I'll pull the compressor off and drain it as well as replace the accumulator. Cos said that he never unsealed it but that he put oil in before installing it. I'll play it safe and pay 30 for a new one.
