Can some one help me with fit tings and hose ?s
Can someone guide me in the right direction here? I'm looking into buying stainless line for my remote oil cooler lines which are 1/2" o.d. hardline. Now I know I need a compression fitting for the hardline side but do they make a compression fitting that converts the 1/2" hardline to a -8an so I can just put the hose on the fitting and just make it one fitting? I've been looking and all the compression fittings I've found are npt and I'd like to not use an adapter off the hose...
The first fitting goes on the braided hose, then the union (2).
Then the tube nut (4) and the tube sleeve (3) go on the hard line.
Double flare the hardline and then slide the tube nut over the tube sleeve and attach to union.
Is this what you were looking for? There are better posts with pictures out there. This is the nickel explanation
.
Just let me know if you need me to elaborate...

Sounds like you'd rather use a fitting like this on the hard line side?
I suppose that would work too. I would sleep better with the flare, but there are people running with just doubled up hose clamps on their steel braid too
