The last several times I've tried to fill my 2000 S-10 it will only take about 3 tenths of a gallon and is full to the top of the filler pipe. This will drain down and it will take another 3 tenths and is full to the top. This went on for 10 gallons to fill the tank. Is this a common problem with a fairly easy fix? Help...

 

make sure the fill hose isn' t kinked.... u don't have any enemies, do u?

 

I don't believe I have any enemies. How and where would the fill hose get kinked. I assume you are referring to the connection between the filler mouth and the gas tank.

Thanks Swartllk. The carbon canister was the culprit. It must be plugged. I pulled the bottom connection off and the tank would vent. Filled with no problem.
