Hey guys..

parked my blazer about 4 months ago and haven't messed with it since. Went out today, it won't start... I added 2 gallons of gas to the tank and tried dumping some in the top of the throttle body.. if I do, it will start and run for maybe 2 or 3 seconds, then die.

I can hear the fuel pump whining when I have the key in the on position so I think it's still operational.. any ideas?

Start with a fuel pressure test.

I will try and get the tools necessary for that asap.

I wanted to run something by you guys:

On top of the tank with the pump, there are a bunch of cut wires. One wire runs from a 10 AMP fuse in the engine bay to the pump, one runs from the pump to the GROUND post on the battery. Any idea why this would have been done? It was clearly done by a previous owner.. I noticed a while back if I disconnected the cable from the battery *or* the fuse, it would not start (just like it doesn't now.)

Alright, doing this this weekend. Finally finished all my other cars.. moving on to this one.

Anyone have any idea about the wires I mentioned in the last post?

Sounds like someone has rewired the fuel pump...

I was hoping someone would say that it was a common thing people did to fix their pumps or something hah. Hopefully it does not complicate replacement.
