Can't remove oil lines

Default Can't remove oil lines

So, I've searched, and I hadn't seen this pop up before.

In the process of removing and replacing my oil lines. Where the lines attach to the adapter on the block, there is some kind of bracket running between the two lines. Preventing me from pulling them out the front. I've got them unbolted from the adapter, now I'm unable to physically remove them.

This bracket runs from the side of the block to the bell housing. I removed the bell housing end, but can't get to the block side. Unless i pull the exhaust manifold, or something.

Thanks for any help.

Edit: did some internet searching. Apparently that brace is a 95 only deal. Lucky me. gonna pick up a stubby 9/16 wrench and go at it from the wheel well.

If anyone has done this on a 95, give me some tips, please!

So, I'm guessing by the 83 views, and 0 replies, nobody has had this issue?

To get that brace out, you'll need a stubby 9/16" wrench. There is almost no room, so it sucks. Can't see what you're doing at all. My bolt wasn't too tight, which was good since you got no room or leverage.

A flex head ratchet would probably have worked better, but i went the cheap route lol.

On my 96' model, I put a jack under the engine with a 2x4 and "gently" raised the engine.
I think there is a youtube video on this subject. I'll try to find it.

Are you talking about the dual steel lines that have the bolt in the center of a block?
At the rear of the lines?

As far as I know you have to disconnect the driver side motor mount and lift the engine. However, I don't know about 1995.

Ok, to add some closure to this.

Removing the bolt securing the above mentioned brace to the block was relatively easy. Going back, however, sucks.

No matter what I did, I could NOT get it to start. The bolt is very short, and there is barely any room to fit your hand in between the exhaust manifold and frame.

After a while of cussing, I decided to crank up on the engine some more. I did not disconnect the motor mount. Block of wood on the jack, and lift under the oil pan. I went farther than I felt comfortable with, to tell the truth, but it was all fine. Some weird popping and creaking noises, and I had enough room to actually turn the bolt.
