Default carburetor cleaning

I have a 95 Blazer. I bought some carburetor cleaner because my mechanic said I had carbon build up. Where the heck do I put the cleaner? There is a large air hose that goes into what I think is the carburetor. Do I just pull that off and spray it in there. ALso, I have heard people say that automatic transmission fluid works better any thoughts. I took a picture of me pointing at what I think is the correct spot. Please help.

That is the air intake into the upper plenum. You don't have a carb, the engine is fuel injected.

I hope it was not your mechanic that told you your engine has a carb.. if it was, you need a new mechanic ASAP

No, the mechanic said that I had carbon build-up. I just assumed that it was a carb. As you may have guessed, I am not a mechanic. Is there anything I can do to clean out the carbon build-u. My car dies when I come to a complete stop.

You can still have carbon build up, and thats where i would put the CARBON cleaner in, some say the brake booster line but that doesnt work very well with the Vortec engine. dont put CARB cleaner in the intake. theres a defference between carbon cleaner and carb cleaner.

whats the name of the cleaner you have? i would recommend doing the seafoam treatment to get rid of the carbon.

Here is a vid of how to properly do the seafoam treatment to a vortec engine.
