i bought the truck from my brother for $1000 its the slt i like it but i bought it with the check engine light on im getting the code evap system leak is there any known problem with this code am i screwed i know i can get it to pass inspection because it doesnt come on for quite a while like a month so i know it can pass i jus dont like looking at the light

 

This can come from more than one problem, but the most common (and simple) is the gas cap not sealing correctly. If the cap is original or old, replace it (I recommend one from the Chevy dealer), clean the surface it seals against, let the code clear and see if that does the trick.
