Looked last night under the cup holder rubber and under the rubber for the second larger storage bin. Didn't seem to find any bolts.

You said the storage bin came out though I had trouble lifting mine up. There are two holes under the bottom rubber in the larger storage bin and I can feel carpet underneath it.

Was there a trick to getting the larger one out?

i dont believe so. i remember it just popping out....

So you have opened the li and removed it. removed the center 'stuff' tray, and have not remove the larger inside bin yet. opnce you get that out there should be 2 10mm bolts holding down the bracket the rear of the console is attached to. if you unbolt that bracket the whole rear side is free....

nect you should have in front of yout cup holder and small plate you called it (i think) THat thing should sit right in front of the cassette deck right? like the stuff on there can touch the front of the deck? if yes, pop that guy out and you will see 2 more 10mm bolts JUST under the plate, and just in front of the cassette deck.

Will do. I'll let you know how it goes. The larger storage bin may be held down by clips or something. I'll play around with it during lunch.

Got the larger storage bin off during lunch and I do see the bolts. This puppy is definitely coming out when I get off of work. The screws underneath the pop panel near the cassette deck may still be a doozy if it's required to pull the console out. I was afraid to break it but did manage to get the two top clips out before giving up and putting it back in.

Good info ABN31B. I appreciate all the help. Will come back if I run into any problems.

I have an '03 Sonoma with what appears to be a two-piece cassette storage chamber forward of the console/arm-rest located between the two front seats..

In order to clean some debris from the cassette storage bin, is there a way to remove the two halves of the bin (top and bottom) with breaking the two pieces?

Thanks for any and all ideas.

The inner well of the compartment just needs to be rocked back and forth a bit. It will slide out. There are a total of three 10 millimeter nuts with attached washers. You will need a long extension for the two inside the compartment.
