Default center console swapped to floor shifter

I own a 1998 LS 4D Blazer, with the shifter on the column, long story short, i want it on the floor. I found a guy that will sell me his out of his 1997 ZR2 that he hit a tree with, but i want to know, with all the changes between 1997 and 1998, with it still fit? Hes the only guy i could find with the same color interior, charcoal black and he is selling my his steering column shroud so i don't have a hole were my old shifter was. ik they look a lot different, but will it still fit over my column, if anyone has pictures of were the wires, or the shifter cable runs to, i wouldn't mind seeing them, and thanks

I know there were changes to the ignition switch. I would shoot for one out of a 98+.

Mixing parts like that, I think it will be much more hassle than its worth. But if you have the time, let us know how it goes.
