Default changing fuel pump gasket

Hey I hay a 2000 blazer that is dropping fuel when I turn and stop quickly. I was told be the local shop that the fuel pump was not seated properly. Is it hard to drop the tank to get to the pump? Is there a video about dropping the tank , as if I was replacing the fuel pump? The shop wanted 600.00 bucks, but I think the is outrageous!

Thanks for the help

never did one on a new blazer. but one obvious thing is try to run it really low on gas so its alot lighter. then you basically have two straps. the filler hose and vent hose going to the gas door, electrical connections and about 4 little hoses connecting to the sending unit. so many variables, rust being a big one, ive had tanks take me anywhere from 25 minutes to 3 hours to get out,

When you drop it, if it's like my 95, there is a vent at the front and rear of the tank. The front one has a short hose on it so be careful they break easy. Use about a 12 inch piece to replace it and loop it.

When you put it back in a little squirt of WD-40 in the hoses makes them go on much easier.

And like they said already---run it out of gas and have it towed home and the tank will be much lighter.
