I just purchased a used 2000 Blazer. I got it home and got stuck on the ice in the driveway. After spinning my wheels back and forth a few times, I was able to get free. Mind your the rpm's were off the chart while the wheel's were spinning. Immediately after this incident, the service engine light came on. Can this upsurge in the rpm's be a reason for the service engine light? Also, I noticed that when I start the car cold, it runs perfect. After driving for a distance and shutting the engine off...restarting is fine but the engine bogs down as though it wasn't getting any gas. After hitting the gas pedal a few times, what ever was causing the bucking, clears itself and the truck runs smooth again. Any "experienced" blazer owners ever have this problem? I put a container of complete fuel system cleaner in it this afternoon and let it run. I'm taking it to Auto Zone tomorrow to get a read on the engine light but would like to have an idea what others think it could be...possibly needs a new gas filter???

So you had it revved beyond the 6k rpm on the tach? Your looking at internal engine damage from valve float.
