chirping noise while driving?
#1
While I'm driving, I'm hearing a chirping noise coming from behind me. Is it the back window or the tailgate like I'm guessing. Is it the weatherstripping around the tailgate. My old car did this too, but there wasn't any tailgate. It only does this in the morning for the first 15 minutes of driving or so, and also it didn't start until the cold weather started. What is causing this, should I be worried, and is it something I should fix. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

So that's what happened to my pet budgie!
It could be the weatherstrip, you can apply silicone dielectric or a silicone rubber treatment to the weatherstrip to see if that makes a difference. Other than that, perhaps adjust the strikers for a tighter fit on the rear hatch.

As stated, a little bit of silicon or penetrating oil applied to the weather stripping on the rear window will end your problem. You'll have to do it every so often or it will start making noise again. I usually do mine every oil change.

That would explain the teeth marks in the carpet.
Thanks for the ideas. I'll try the strikers tomorrow morning before I leave the house. If that doesn't work, I'll stop at Advance Auto Parts and get some glue. I remember when I was putting in my taillights, I pulled the weatherstripping out a little to get a screwdriver in there. I'll squirt a little glue in there to make a snug fit, no leaks.
