No need to tape the latch on the swing away tire carrier. The latch just needs to be adjusted (on the spare tire side) I did mine a while ago. If you look along where the latch housing attatches to the swing away part you can see where it used to be on/in the paint and has worked its way away causing rattles. On my blazer I had to move my latch up (seemed strange to me at the time) but it worked!

Great list.
I've done many already and that was before I joined this forum and read the list!

The spring compressor was a game saver for the door hinges.
Both of the upper door hinges needed the pins replaced when we got our truck.
My son helped me replace both of them in the driveway.
Well almost, since the drivers door had been rigged by someone with an arc welder.
It had a spot of weld directly on the pin and would not come out.
That pin had been bad long enough to wear out the lower bushing hole somewhat.
My son took it to his job the next day and ground of the weld so we were finally able to get it replaced.

The spring nut fell back off about a week later because it just didnd't go on properly.
I was able to bend the nut with a pair of pliers and got back on.
It appears to be on properly now but when it came off it allowed the door to drop and it looks like it cracked that lower bushing.

So I will be needing to do it once again sometime in the future.
I keep an eye on it for now.

Default Thanks!!!!!

Thus is an excellent list and now a "To-Do" list for my newly acquired 2nd Gen 03 Blazer. Got one question looking for tis or a fix....my rear wiper gets stuck trying to move from it's resting bracket over the bottom of the glass edge gasket. Can I somehow shim the arm out a bit or...???

Default Interior panel screw location diagram

Looking for where all the damn screws go. I should have taken pictures but was too busy making sure my kids (9&10) didn't break the plastic.
