Took to shop to hook up computer - No Communication message.
Got same message twice. 2 different computers...
Is this hard job to replace? If I find one for same VIN type in junk yard, will that suffice?
By the way we checked fuses.. All looked good???
Any suggestions as to what it may be???

Okay, you have a '95. As we have discussed here before, there can be one of 3 different OBD systems on this year model, OBD I, OBD 1.5, or OBD II, depending on when the vehicle was made. If the shop used a connector and a reader that does not match the system you have, there will be no communication. Read some of the threads concerning this issue and you should be able to tell which system you have.

I have to 16 whole plug. I cannot find anywhere under the hood that the truck is OBD II compliant. Hence, I beleive it is OBD 1.5
My question is has anyone been successful in finding a scanner to read these hybrid systems?
Sorry, I am fairly uneducated on this matter. i just want to purchase a scanner that is not terribly expensive to read/clear codes...
My vin has a W in it. (I read somewhere this helps determine???)
Please advise.
