Ok....Bout 2 weeks ago my Blazer started acting really goofy on the way to work. While at highway speed all was cool, then when I got off and onto surface streets it wouldn't go into 1st gear unless I dropped it into 1st via the shifter. Got to work and muttered

On the way home it still wouldn't go into 1st on it's own then when I hit the highway I noticed that it wasn't going into Overdrive. So I ran home at 3K rpms to do 55.

MIL was on, I don't know who has my scanner so I can't check it. I tell the wife that as she only drives around town dropping off kids and what not that my plan was for her to use the Blazer for the time being and I'd use the van, she was cool with that. I told her when she starts from a stop, just drop it into 1st till she got to 10 - 15 Mph then pop it back into OD and it'll be ok (till it breaks )

Well after 2 days of her driving it 1st started working again all on it's own, I checked it out and OD is working now as well. Sunday the MIL turned off.


So long story longer.... What I figured was at worst a fading fast trans and at best was A and B solenoids is now working "Just like on TV"!


Still planning on swapping the solenoids and doing a fluid/filter but why is it working now?

 

eh sounds like you got a dirty trans. do a filter fluid change and see if it helps. be glad that your not shelling out 1800 bucks at christmas for a trans.
