Default Connector in engine compartment

I have amale connector and female connector in my engine compartment next to the windshield wiper fluid and it is disconnected. I was wondering what it isand why it would be disconnected. It looks like this: The male endand The female end. If anybody has a clue was it is, please tell me.

They're connected on mine and I believe it's the sensor for the washer fluid level. Plug them together.

Ok I will try that. But i'm worried that they are disconnected for a reason. Like something might be messed up with them.

could it be the rear washer pump? maybe the hose is busted/disconected, so the pump was unplugged to keep it from being used (I just fixed mine, the hose came out of the elbow inside the tailgate).

Possible. The two wires from it run into a harness right in front of the main fluid reservoir. I highly doubt that connecting them will cause any harm. Who knows, it may fix something.

I checked mine, and that is the rear washer pump.
