the way this thing is acting.........it almost sounds like an IAC issue on the earlier 4-3's.

well theres air entering the engine somewhere, you know that. so the best guess would be either something wrong with the TB or theres a vacuum leak.

ok the tb is closin all the way... so i think i will go pick up a tb gasket and new iac, clean the tb as best as possible and see what happens..

i have a book of records of stuff done with the truck and the iac was replaced on 8/7/2010. the throttle body was also cleaned at the same time.(doesnt look like its ever been cleaned). i dont have the sixty bucks for a new iac and i cant find the reciept so im not gettin a new one yet. but i will go get a tb gasket so i can take that off and clean it. i will come back later and report what happens.

if your IAC was just replaced last Summer, i can't see it being a cause to the problem. but it would be worth taking it off to inspect it, while you're cleaning everything.

i didnt think that the iac was the issue. although i do agree that it does sound like an iac issue. i am hoping to get around to pulling it apart tonight when i get out of work.

alright i jus got done cleaning my throttle body. i replaced the gasket and cleaned everything up real good. i only started it, havent drivin it yet but it seems that the problem has been resolved. it revved up pretty high when i started it, i then realized that i forgot to put the vacuum line on the back of intake tube but i put it on, put the truck in drive and it didnt rev up like it was. i will drive it in the morning and come back on to report the results. thank you everyone for your help!
