what about your local parts stores? a couple of the major stores up here (Canadian Tire & The Parts Souce) have a loan-a-tool program that lets you have borrow tools for free, provided you bring it back within 72 hours.

i'm sure your O'rilley's & Pep Boys must offer somehting similar.

I soaked my throttle cables (at the TB) and the sides of the butterfly where it connects to the tb and it seemed to fix it.

there's a schrader valve behind the throttle body. remove the black cap, screw/slip on the fitting from the tool.

supposed to be 55 to 60 psi to start. i think 50 while running is fine, and @ WOT it should be @ 66. also, pressure should jump instantly when the throttle is jabbed.

just a little FYI, my Dad's '98 'Burb was (still is) acting a little like your truck. only 1/5th throttle to drive, any more & it falls flat on it's face.

has good start-up fuel pressure (56 psi) and drops to 52 when running. but will not move more than 1 pound when the throttle is floored (even when parked) so his pump is in need of replacement.

oh yeah, it's noisy as hell too.

ok i hooked up and checked my fuel pressure. at key on it was at 60. i waited a min to start it while i was waiting the pressure slowly dropped to 57(not sure if this means anything). when i started it up the presure was at 54. it jumped pretty fast when i jabbed the throttle but never went over 60psi. at most i think it was 58 or 59.

yeah, i've looked into that already for Brad's (zedartwo) truck. you can read through his build thread if you want (this was just last month), but after spending more than an hour messing with that splice pack, it really didn't change anything 110% on his.

i also put a new cap on his truck while i was @ it, since he didn't change it when he did a tune up last.

since his truck was acting up like my Dad' 'Burb was (is), i kinda pointed out the fuel pressure issue to him after i had a chance to go @ my Dad's 'Burb. his fuel pressures are what i mentioned in post #34.
