Coolant leaking from the left-rear side of the engine. Help!

****! I just did my intake gasket yesterday and I tightened it to 35 Ft lbs. I tightened according to the 1994-1995 specs and I have a 2001! To top it off, I didnt buy the gasket with the T in it so its another plastic... Im an Idiot!

I feel your pain... and especially your problem with the 'What do I do NOW?'

If it were me, and 35 ft/lbs...
1. Keep fingers crossed and save the shekels to do it again in 6 months.
Second choice: Keep close eye on it and leave it alone till it leaks.

Note that's sort of a finger in the wind thing based on what I know as writ in my last post.
When/if you redo it, you might want to consider just going ahead and doing head gaskets at same time. IMO, more likely to stress them than the crank bore alignment.

As PF stated, you either can pull it apart and inspect the gaskets for damage, replace as necessary, or keep a close eye on it and hope for the best.

If you didn't break off any of the bolts and you used the newer metal framed gaskets, the potential for problems is reduced to a point.

Fingers are staying crossed! Have about an hour of drive time with no apparent problem yet. I think I only got 1 out of the 8 bolts actually down to 35 lbs because it felt ridiculous cranking it that tight. Now that I think of it, Thats when I shouldve checked the damn book!
