As of 99 its not replaceable. You can get a tank at the junkyard that is if they didnt break it too. Your tank will leak if that is not sealed. Not to mention the evap leak code you will get. I have a service manual for the car and it doesnt even mention disconnecting that hose before dropping the tank. Anyway that tank also is vented at the fuel pump so I just plugged mine and the hose that goes to it. If you follow the hose from the vent it tees together with the fuel pump hose. It seems to me the shape of that tank doesnt really require that vent. Cut off the fitting nipple and put a #10 x 3/4 lg screw in it with some sealer. I did tap the hole just to avoid cracking the the plastic. I also plug the hose side. It was a Sunday and I was willing to try anything short of buying a new tank. Worst case I would have to drop the tank again. Havent had any issues since beginning of summer.

My Blazer was purchased new by my dad and when the fuel pump went out the first time I called a friend to come tow it. He decided to help me by changing pump. About 6 weeks ago pump went out again and when I droped tank I noticed repair which camp loose. I brake cleaned & scotch brited area and applied gas compatable epoxy. Last weekend when I filled up gas ran out the vent valve above the spare tire. I have no codes. reading this it does not appear these items are related.

There are no vent valves above the spare tire?? The vent valve is in the front of the tank and in the fuel pump. Those lines t together and run to the charcoal canister in the rear fender well. The fuel fill and vent run above the spare tire. Those do rot out. I just bought the complete assy from the junkyard for $35. Brand new I have seen it for $100. If its leaking you will eventually get a code when the small evap test runs. Takes about 40 starts and the tank has to be about 1/2 to 3/4 full.
