I love a good challenge, especially if its electrical or electronics

FYI George.

This matter will be delayed a few weeks, I'm going on vacation and when I'm back I'll go to my friend who is going to help me with this. He is a master on stuff like this and sees this as a challenge like you.

He also see it as an opportunity since he has encountered other cases like this and now see a way to solve this.

I'll keep you posted.

Today I went to my friend and we were able to solve this.

With his oscilloscope we could read the signal that the Key receiver send to the Body Control Module. Then with an Arduino UNO module ha could program it to send that signal to the BCM and it unlocked the security code.

What we did today was experimental and now my friend will build a proper unit with an Arduino module and put it in a small case. I will get a new universal remote lock control unit that will send a 12 V open signal to the Arduino unit instead of the locks. This because the BCM will do the unlock when it gets the signal.

Much appreciated your help on this George!

Excellent work. Do you remember the waveform of the signal to the BCM?

My friend will send a screen shot from the oscilloscope and I'll post it when I get it.
It was a square wave with a few different length in ms pulses. I suppose that each key fob has different puls lengths since it knows which memory settings for the driver seat are stored for each key.

Sounds good. This turned out to be some quality, long distant electronic security hacking. I don’t get an opportunity to coordinate and assist at this level very often on this site. It reminds me of being back in the lab at the start of my electronics career back in the ‘70’s.
