My bravada turns over but doesn't start up. I can get it started only by cycling off/run a few times then to start. This all started after my pump was replaced 6 mos ago. Fuel pressure test was ok but not sure if they checked to see if it held pressure and for how long. I've read about failing regulators in the injector here. I was told by mechanic due to cheaper fuel pump and its electronics...that by cycling the pump can reach right pressure. Only happens when cold--after 10 minutes driving it will fire by third crank. Any ideas?

 

If it is the cycling of the fuel pump that is required, try turning the key on until you hear the pump shut off, then back off for a short time, then on again. Do that 2-3 times then try to start it. If it starts, then you have a pressure bleed somewhere in the system that you need to diagnose.

What is it that you are driving? This information is necessary to move this post into the proper generational section. We are trying to clear out the Gen Tech section (as the post at the top of this section details).

 

Its a 1999 Bravada. Problems started after a new few pump was put in (local auto store supplied). If I cycle it starts
fine. Could this cheaper pump be the pressure leak.
