Unhappy Drivers door side panel removal

I have a 2000 LT 4x4 4.3 blazer with 104K on it.

My problem is how do I remove the drivers door side panel to get to the motor to replace it for the driver's door window. Its been acting up for yrs and I just either open the door and shut it or bang on the side of panel and it would work again. Well, Last night in the cold, it said hey you let me down now try to get me back up. hahahaha..after a lot shutting the door and a lot of banging I got it to inch its way back up. So I figure okay time for a change. But, I don't won't to screw up the side panel as I take it off to get to it. Any Help on doing it without making a mess of the whole thing?

And also when doing my weekly check of fuilds, I notice my windshield washer fuild a little low, so I go to put some in and it leak it out as fast as I was putting it in...Thats 2 things, and we all now they come in 3's. I know how to replace that, have done the little motor down there for the washer's a few yrs ago.

Any help on the side panel sure would be appricated.

Thanks

Dennis

take the screw off for the door handle. slide the trim piece off the handle. there is 2 bolts at the bottom if i remember right. i think 10mm. after you remove that you need to push the door panel up to slide off the trim clips and clear the bottom lip of the window. after that you will have this black cover that has this tar stuff on it you can peel back to get to your window motor. make sure you either drill a hole through the regulator and bolt the sector gear to it so the high tension spring doesn't come undone and do very severe damage to your self. or prop the bottom of the window all the way up against the rubber seal. that will hold the spring from unwinding also.

Thanks, I have done a few motor replacements to older cars and the one thing you mention about the spring I didn't know about. Other wise..something bad would have happen.
Thanks again

Just a note: I have look at the door panel (Haven't done it yet, Lazy) and I don't see any bolts at the bottom of the panel. Just maybe 4 to 6 smaller (1/4" screws/bolts) up in the arm rest area. Is that all there is?

Thanks
Dennis

The bottom is held in with the 'christmas tree' push pin deals.

No screws at the bottom, two at the pull/armrest, one at the handle and the plastic "fir tree" fasteners that go into the holes in the metal. The window switch panel lifts out, no fasteners and slips through the opening.
