Default EDI distributor installed incorrectly?

So far as an EDI distributor is it possible that it can be put in not exactly right and the vehicle still run just poorly? a vehicle cannot run if its on the exhaust stroke can it? i understand the computer sets the timing on my 2000 blazer but can the distributor not be set properly and run but run poorly? any experiences with EDI distributor installment and faulty distributor parts that caused the vehicle to run but run poorly such as the rotor, gear ETC. also can you adjust the distributor by removing it but not moving the motor and adjusting the oil pump then reinstalling without having to find TDC & repeat the process?🧐

Yes an improperly installed distributor will still allow the truck to run but only up to a point.

Yes, you can hunt around, moving the distr a tooth or two in each direction to see if it will run better but this subject has been open for about a week so why not take the hour or so to find TDC and line everything up? I’ll say it again, your final confirmation is CMP retard.
