electric 4wd
my 96 blazer wont engage into 4wd i have the push button 4wd on the dash and was looking for some input as to the cause of the problem... is there something wrong with the swith itself or is there something bigger that is causing the problem? hope to hear from someone soon!! thanks everyone!! mike d oh as an add on i know it isnt locking into 4wd because the lights for 4hi and 4lo stay solid and in the mud i was in i know only my rears were the ones spinning.... groan.... regards again mike d
First, check the fuse in the fuse panel on side of dash on drivers side. then we can start trouble shooting it. The switches are prone to failure, and if it is the switch, it will keep blowing fuses. Brand New switch = 40 bucks at a dealership
I have a 2000 Blazer and had the same problem. The dealership said that I needed a new transfer case module. But I simply got under the truck, unplugged the module, cleaned it up and plugged it back in. Worked fine ever since.
Ok i did get the problem fixed.Under the battery where the seliniod(?) is that activates the 4wd there is a vac hose that came off and needed to be put back on..a VERY simple fix even for someone like me who went to the school for the mechicialy declined!
