First, check the fuse in the fuse panel on side of dash on drivers side. then we can start trouble shooting it. The switches are prone to failure, and if it is the switch, it will keep blowing fuses. Brand New switch = 40 bucks at a dealership

I have a 2000 Blazer and had the same problem. The dealership said that I needed a new transfer case module. But I simply got under the truck, unplugged the module, cleaned it up and plugged it back in. Worked fine ever since.

I had the same problem. I had a bad encoder motor. It wasn't that much to have fixed. I can't remember exactly, but it was under $100.

Ok i did get the problem fixed.Under the battery where the seliniod(?) is that activates the 4wd there is a vac hose that came off and needed to be put back on..a VERY simple fix even for someone like me who went to the school for the mechicialy declined!
Happy new year all!
