I have a 1999 Blazer that I have done nothing but
fork money into. The latest problem I have been
having it that first thing in the morning it acts like
it just can't get moving. Acts like its going to quit on me but never does.
Check engine light comes on. It acts this way the first part of the day. Then the more
I drive it the problems all go away including the check engine light. The dealer can find nothing wrong with it.
I dont know what to do. I am a women and know nothing about this stuff!

first off i beleave that if the check engine light comes on there should be a trouble shooting code stored

second does it do this everytime the engine is cold? (does it do it when you leave work)

 

First of all you don't have to be a woman to not know this stuff, most of us guys don't know anymore in this age of computerised controls.

Has the dealer had the truck overnite so that they could check it cold or did you take it in after it was warmed up and the problem wasn't there anymore?
My first thought would be a faulty coolant temperature sensor if that was the case.

 

Yes they have had it overnight
and yes it does it first thing in the morning.
If I run it for a while to work or just day to day running around
it stops acting up until the next day.

 

Hmmmm..... almost like a front O2 sensor heating element that has gone bad. The sensor probably still works fine but the heating element (so that it works properly in the morning and doesn't have to wait for the exhaust to heat up to read correctly) is not working. While it's not reading correctly, it's adding too much fuel and it will run sluggish.

This is just my opinion and honestly we need to catch the Check Engine light on to be sure what it is.

 

I hope the code was stored because
this morning the light was not on.
It does this off and on. One day it will run fine and the next run like crap. Thanks for your advice!

 

I have a 1999, mine did same thing, new maf sensor stopped the problem,not saying this is your cure for sure,but again, your symptoms sound just like mine, hope this helps you.
