Default engine oil cooler line

I have a 01 chevy blazer v-6 4.3L engine and i changed the oil cooler line lastnite since the old one was leaking from the top connection. The new top connection leaks more then the old one does.Okay enough with that trying to find out if the lines going to the radiator is supposed to have and o-ring or just connects with the retainer rings and plastic piece that's on the lines. I know for a fact that it doesn't have an o-ring but the guy at the advance auto insist that it does but it doesn't. Am i correct on this or what? Plz inform me if I am wrong or not. I know I should have spent the extra money and brought the AC Delco part.

No O ring. The retainer holds the line in the radiator. The fittings corrode and don't seal well, might have to replace the fitting. Most auto parts stores have them, (made by Dorman) and they just screw into the radiator fitting.

Just replaced my cooler line for the third time on Thursday, leaking like crazy at a crimp connection. Had a shop make up two hydraulic lines with 1/2" compression fittings on each end. Cut out the original crimp connectors and cheezy rubber lines and installed the hydraulic lines. Those babies are good for 3,000psi, should hold 60psi of oil pressure Did the same thing about 4 years ago to the other set of lines, they're still bone dry.

Actually it's a pretty easy fix and I fixed mine just had to order some more oil line connectors that cost about 10 bucks a piece and now I'm all good. Come to find out that the oil line connectors had o-rings in them and that was the cause of the leaks. @ hellblazer I would get that fix quickly if I was you and thx e1 for the info
