Engine oil in the steering deposit

Engine oil in the steering deposit
The stupid mechanic put engine oil (5W30) in the steering reservoir until it topped. What can I do?, is enough to use a vacuum device to catch the mixed liquid?, can I use a hose to remove the oil?

Use a hand pump to pull the mixed fluid out and fill to the appropriate level with fresh power steering fluid. If the truck was run with this mix in it, then I would do this repeatedly to flush the mix out of the system as best you can. You may have to flush through quite a bit of ps fluid to do it.

wow i wonder how stupid he had to be to put engine oil in there. The reservoir has big orange letters that say power steering fluid.
BTW i just replaced my power steerng fluid and i went to autozone and bought a oil pump it was like maybe 20 dollars less maybe, they had it behind the counter

Thanks for the replies. The guy was stupid but not that much as we here speak in spanish and the "steering fluid" on the cap may was impossible to him. Blazers are not very common around here too. They did me a 3 liters wash for free (using the vacuum pump) and now the fluid is red and new. I only use the truck for some 15 kilometers with the mixture in. Later (few months) I will do the 3 liters washout again.
