Evaporator Sytem Code

Evaporator Sytem Code
My engine check light comes on when I step on it hard for fast acceleration.
Then I make a trip to the auto parts store for their free code reading diagnosis and computer reset which will keep the light off again for days or weeks until I step on it again.
This is getting to be a bad habit though.
Obviously a low engine vacuum triggers the event.
Does any one know how i may determine where in my fuel system I may have a small air leak? I thought of pressurizing the gas tank while someone applies soapy water to the various evaporator system parts(rear drivers back fender area).
Then someone said I need to purge the system after installing a new fuel pump.
Purge? How?

- that's dumb.
Go to Walmart or any store sells kid toys and buy bubble soap.. cheap and works best.
What was the code, anyway?
Does it vary based on how full tank is?
From my experience, what might change after FP replace..
cracked tank vent nipple {or tubing},
reused pump donut seal without clean and lubing it.
rust hole {or air seep around rust} in filler pipe.
bad/sticky purge valve

I am sorry I did not seethe code number last time it was cleared.ll I know is that the truck runs and starts very well and that all the filler tube materials are in good shape and well tightened. The pump came with a new 'o' ring which i needed to lube in order to successfully seat the pump in the well cleaned recess. I do not know why the light is coming on but I will do the soap test thing as suggested.
Thanks.
Thanks.
