Ya that's just for the parts, labor would be a good bit more, like $500+ to get it done at a shop, at least were i live. Its really not too bad of a job, lots of good write ups on here. #1 thing is putting the distributor back in correctly.

#1 thing is using a good gasket set and the RTV/tightening sequence. Mess that up and you have to do it again.

Bought my 96 Jimmy 6 years ago for $1000. Now with 200,000+ miles on it things are wearing out. Any vehicle needs regular maintenance and if put off repairs add up quickly. But it's still cheaper than a monthly payment and higher insurance rates. Just my opinion.
