Talk about coincidence... I just came in to ask that same question. I just got an electric fan and I'm not sure how to take the old fan off.

I believe there are a few post on here that talk about the fans removal. If I recall you either need to get the special fan tool or you have to make it out of steel yourself. If you don't have a welder you probably need to buy it or find a local place that has one to lend.

Or a very large adjustable cresent wrench will do if i'm not mistaken. The problem is it's like a 2' across bolt...but I could be mistaken.

Yep, this is a good post on removing the fan. I hope my wrench is big enough! I'll give it a try in the morning.

I used **what else**? water pump pliers, lol. Once the nut breaks loose it spins right off. At least mine did.

Thanks for the replies!

the nut on my fan was a 36mm and made one myself out of steel otherwise some parts stores have a loan-a-tool policy and ask for the clutch fan assembly wrenches
