One adventurous road ahead is to replace the rear limited slip differential with a posi-trac differential. Been holding-off on doing this....not sure why.
Think I will drive down some adventurous roads first.

Took Blazer out for another long drive and got a flashing Service Engine Soon lite. Pulled over, shut engine off for 10 sec, re-started....no SES lite....took off again.....made it about 1.5 miles and flashing SES lite. Turned around, headed for home....SES became solid. Got home, pulled code, P0300....well...crap!....guess I am not going to get by not doing a CKP Variation Learn after all. Since I do not have a Tech 2 or similar bi-directional scanner....will be calling around to find-out how much a shop is going to charge for this.

Thought I would close this out; took the Blazer into a shop for an alignment and to have the CKP Variation Learn performed. Shop charged me $50 for the Learn....not too bad. Anyways on the road again and Blazer running good. No more P0300. Oh and I got the cam retard at -0.2°....not bad.

The oil pickup is not the problem....those blasted steel transmission cooler lines are. Once I got the pan past these lines, the pan comes straight down. Installing was the same; get pass those lines and pan goes straight on. Although the front of the pan has to go up first to clear the crossmember;
I forgot to mention that I got my wife to help hold the pan in place. We each had one hand on the pan holding it in place and then she placed a bolt into the 1/2" socket with the other hand, which I then screwed-in using an electric driver with a long extension. After getting four bolts in, she left and I got the remaining ones in, including the two nuts at the very rear. Of course tightened the bolts down in a "X" pattern and a little at a time until the driver torque limit. Time for the torque wrench, 18 ft-lbs and was done.

i also recently did the timing set on my other blazer so that’ll go easy at same time.
thanks, Shawn

I would think with a 2 1/2" lift there would be ample space to get the oil pan out without much trouble; manual trans and all. Likely no difference with trans in or out in your case....so you could do the oil pan gasket/timing cover about anytime. But I really do not know if the lift gives you room on not.....I would have to be under to do a "look-see" to know.
Have always wished my Blazer had a manual trans....they are rare.
Let me know what you do....and take pictures.
Good luck

A parts Blazer (or truck) would be the way to go. Don't get a 4 cylinder because the transmission won't bolt up. If you get one close enough to yours, you might even be able to use the PCM from it, instead of having yours programmed.
