Default Foglight installation

Hello everyone,

I have the same old 97 Blazer I just want to know how much power my alternator gives off, and how much of that power do my original head lights take on them? My dad says that if I put 4 foglights (55 watts each) on my stock Blazer than my alternator might die and eventually the battery. My plans are to put 8 foglights on it, is that possible? Or do I have to change the alternator for a more powerful one, if so, which one?

Thanks in advance (like always)!

Not gonna be good for it!! You probably will have to upgrade your alternator sooner than you want, especially if you run all at once. Not sure what your stock one puts out something like 120. Am I right??

I just don't understand, how do those Wranglers and other SUV's have a bunch of lights on them? Do they upgrade the alternator also? If so, how can I upgrade my alternator, and from which car? I'm thinking maybe like the Chevy 1500 or something like that, will the alternator fit my 4.3L?

Thanks for replying!

look for a high output alternator, can get them a number of places online for reasonable dollars. Ohio Generator, HO, Irragi, ebay.
