Default Front Sway Bar Bracket

Has anyone ever had the front sway bar bracket - the piece welded to the frame that the bushing bolts into - break from rust or impact? If so, what did you do with it? I've been to about 10 body shops in my area and none of them will go anywhere near frame work (they say there's too much liability). Am I stuck just having to MacGyver something up or take up amateur welding?

I would weld it without a second thought. Maybe take it to a welding shop or a muffler shop instead?
