Default Fuel Filter Question

Hey,

2000 blazer 2wd.
87500 miles

Just replaced fuel pump (died on me)and filter less that 3000 miles ago. Truck was running rough, so I did seafoam through intake, and seafoam through tank, seafaom in crankcase, oil change, new plugs and wires and new PCV valve. Truck running much better, but I have a question about fuel filter. When I removed it and tilted it to drain the gas out of it grey gas came out of it. It looked like ultra fine blackpowder it the gas. Would the seafoam have loosend that much gunk in the fuel line from the tank to the filter? I was very good at cleaning the tank after changing the fuel pump. Truck is running fine now though. Just thought Id ask to see if that is normal.

[sm=welcomesign.gif]to the Forum. The residue was possibly just remnants of the old, self-destructing fuel pump that had been gathering in the old filter.

Thanks,

I am taking the advice now to never let the tank get less than 1/4. Being stranded along side of the road stinks. Again thanks.

Default RE: Fuel Filter Question

the grey color gas you got (pretty much EVERY f.filter i have changed) was probly from all the impurities from the gas station pump nozzles (that are touched and dropped and just stuck right into the filler neck)and just plain dirty cheap gas that EVERYONE gets from time to time , and lets not forget the tank and lines "lining stuff" .... thats why i like to change my F.filters as often as every 20k instead of the reccomended 30-or 60k (whichever one it was) lol
