Default Fuel pressure at 10psi

I have a fuel pressure leak. It is only reading at 10 psi. I have changed the fuel pump but the pressure remains at 10 psi. I also did the fuel test at the fuel filter. Has anyone ever experienced this or have any suggestions? It's a 98 jimmy

If the fuel pump maximum output pressure at the filter, (with all pressure and flow ending at the tester) is 10psi, either the pump is faulty or the pump is not getting good voltage and or ground. If the 10psi reading was not a "dead head" reading, the problem could be most anywhere. Max pump output pressure must be 73psi to 108psi on your 1998.

How would I check for a bad ground. What would be the process of doing that. Because I'am not sure how to go about it. Any tips would be good thank you.

you need to probe the black wire at the fuel pump with a multi-meter to a good ground.
Should be five ohms or less
Great tutorial on you-tube on how to multi-meter.

What is the maximum pump output pressure at the filter? Testing is described in post #2, and the pump must be running when pressure readings are taken.

EDIT: If max pressure was 10psi, the problem is in the fuel tank. Could be a bad pump or a leaky line between the pump and the fuel pump module. Either way, the module needs to be removed.
