Default Fuel Pressure

A couple weeks ago I decided to change the fuel filter on my 2002 Sonoma. There were no issues with starting or running but I just felt that with 105,000 miles it was time to change since I want to keep the truck for a few more years.

The replacement went off without a hitch. But now I am losing fuel pressure if the truck sits overnight. If I turn on the key and wait a few seconds it starts like it always did. If I try cranking it right away it may take two attempts to fire.

Is there anything I am missing? It would seem to be awfully coincidental if just changing a fuel filter would reveal a fuel pressure/pump problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

BTW the only issue I have had with the truck before and after change is a P0442 code which I have not been able to resolve.

What engine?
You mentioned that you're losing fuel pressure:

What is the fuel pressure with the key on, engine off, fuel pump running?
How long does it hold pressure?
