I am working on my 95 blazer. it will not start, but it does have spark. i thought at first it was a fuel pump issue but when i put a fuel pressure gauge on the truck it will pump up to 60psi (this takes a few times of turning the pump on and off after it sits a while). the problem is as soon as the pump shuts off the fuel pressure immidiatley starts dropping off. after about 4 seconds it is back to zero. i am assuming the there is a problem with either the FPR or another part of the CPI system. if anyone has any advise on what would cause this problemi would appreciate the help. thanks!

 

Pull the air flow regulator off the top of the intake and look inside there and see which side is clean. Look under the DIY section and look for the topic "DIY fuel pressure regulator", That post will help yopu out allot!!!

 

if it does turn out to be the FPR

Dorman Productspart # 55162 (even comes with the nice tamper proff torx bit)

 

could be a hole inthe fuel line somewhere or a connection.

if so keep cranking it to build up the pressure and check for a leak,

just quessing though prob is fpr

 

There's also a check valve in the pump I believe that holds the pressure it acculumates for start. I have hear of these failing and simply draining the fuel back into the tank. However, with the popularity of the FPR leaking or the nut kit having problems I would definetly start the inspection where Kordogmentioned. You should have a preyy strong fuel smell coming from the upper plenum when you remove the MAF.
