fuel problem
1998 gmc jimmy 4.3 "vin W". Well my problem started with my fuel pump going out no big deal, I drop my tank throw in a new fuel pump put everything back turn the key hear my whine noise "did not seem as loud as usual" Still no fire, But when i pour gas into the t/body it fires up, The pressure check valve under the hood sprays out fuel "not positive it is enough" But im getting fuel. The only thing i can think of is the fuel filter could be clogged up a little bit? maybe not. If anyone has any thoughts let me know, I wont have a fuel pressure tester till monday to know for sure if i have 60-66psi
You could try changing the fuel filter. You have pretty much narrowed the problem down to a fuel supply issue from the sounds of it. The fuel pressure test would be the next step in determining exactly where the problem lies.
What brand of pump did you install?
Just out of coincidence, when you have tried starting it, your intake duct work wasn't disconnected from the throttle body was it? If so, was the MAF sensor still plugged in? The engine will not run with no air flowing through the MAF sensor.

Im gonna change the fuel filter in the morning anything else you would troubleshoot? My fuel pressure is supposed to be 60-66psi right?
Well i could not wait till monday for a pressure tester, Had to pay $50 for one. I only have 21psi of fuel pressure so the pump i put in was bad also. Checkin around on ebay i found a place that has the whole drop in unit for $64.95 free s/h + Lifetime warranty. Anyone ever try one? I posted the link below, Let me know what you think thanks.
