Default fuel pump

I have an 02 Blazer and the fuel pump has gone out on it. Is there anywhere to buy just the fuel pump instead of the pump and sending unit all together?

Ok, that didnt work, anyway,,, I went down to NAPA and looked at the replacement unit, It looks like you can take it apart. So, I will be dropping the tank and pulling it apart to see if you can replace just the pump by itself or not.

I just had to replace my fuel pump and sending unit. Apparently they dont sell just the fuel pump. >

If u can do it urself, GO FOR IT! Ended up costing me $900 w/ labor and towing and all that extra stuff you pay for when u have a good mechanic!

My time is worth more than the cost of a full new AC Delco pump assembly. If I had to pull it apart once prematurely, I would spend more money in time than if I had of just done it right the first time. I'm not sure how much you value your time, but think about it...

Also, the potential to screw things up is higher with that approach.

Default Fuel pump

Well, I ended up buying the pump from NAPA, 310.00 out the door. I did pull the old one apart and tried to find a pump that would work (didnt spend anytime on ebay) . Took me 4 hours to drop the tank and pull the old pump out and apart, took about the same to put it all back together again. If I didnt need it back on the road, I might have searched ebay for a while. Thank you for all comments.

glad you got it done.

Getting the tank out and back in is the worst part of the job, we did our 95 S10 Blazer back in the summer - in the yard.

Why don't I take my stuff to shops to be worked on? I got fed up arguing with folks who half a$$ed fixed stuff and then wanted to argue about it. The only work in 25 years that was worth paying someone for was getting my diesel fuel injection pump rebuilt. No issues with that repair shop but every other place I've been to felt fine charging big buck for poor workmanship.
