Default fuel pump gone out?

i have a 96 chevy blazer 4 door. has the 4.3L in it v6. when its cold outside it took several times of priming my blazer before it would actually fire over and run, and after that it would start fine rest of day, now it wont even start i can hear the fuel pump kick on but it wont start even with priming it. its also colder now ran fine before the big temp change last week. is it just my fuel pump is getting weak or is there anything else i can check before i have it towed to a shop?
Thanks, Josh.

Is there or has there been any CELs. To see if your fuel pump is good you need to hook up a pressure gauge. 60psi when you turn on the key & it should not drop more than 10psi in 5 minutes.
So without you giving us readings we can only guess like you are.

a lot of times you can hear the fuel pump priming by just turning the key, so having someone turn the key while you stand near the back is an easy way of knowing it's working or not

prelude he said he can hear it working, slow down an read,

But you can try taking something sold like block of wood and putting it on the tank and very gently tap on it an see if that'll free it up to help start it
