Hi everyone, I dropped my tank earlier this week and am waiting for the Delphi pump to arrive. Of course Amazon recommended the lock ring for $16 and I didn't buy it. I just. took a good look at my ring and I think this thing is going to crumble away. Do I just move the plastic tab back and try to spin it off counter clockwise? You can get a good look at the ring at the end of my tank removal video. Any suggestions on removing this ring would be appreciated.

Scratch this question, I got her. The lock ring is mangled though.

 

Mine came off pretty easy, all the times I had the tank down. A big flat head scredriver and a hammer, and it drives right off.
