is it the fuel pump, or maybe the relay?

hi everyone, 97 blazer 4.3 4x4, since i got the blazer last week, ive noticed sometihng, when i turn the key to "run" position, (to see if the fuel pump turns on for 3-5 sec.) well it turns on and stays on! never seen this before
truck runs fine other than that. it will start right up and go, fuel pump is really loud, and it turns off when the key is set to off, but i know its not suppost to be on constantly when its in the run possition. help please, why is it doin this

Check your fuel pressure you can get the tool at your local autoparts the psi should be at 10 -13 psi then your pumps fine

I know for sure that on the 98+, the pump does shut off after a few seconds of run time with the key in the RUN position, but the engine off. Not sure about the 96-97 trucks... If it's running ok, I'm not sure I'd worry too much about it though.
The pressure you quoted is considerably lower than these engines require. 55-60psi is the normal proper range for the CPI & SCFI engines.
